Recent reports reveal Huawei’s forthcoming Mate 20 smartphone will feature a whopping 6.9-inch Samsung Display AMOLED screen. The device is tipped to launch late this year or in Q1Y19.
According to Korean news outlet The Bell, Huawei has already placed an order with Samsung Display for the screens, which will reportedly be flat than curved.
Huawei’s Mate series is known for its big screen handsets, powerhouse processors, and competes with Samsung’s Galaxy Note despite the absence of a stylus.
Claimed to boast a 6.9-inch display screen, Huawei’s Mate 20 could be one of the largest phones released this year.
Apple’s next ‘XL’ iPhone is tipped to be around 6.46-inches and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 around 6.38-inches.
Commentators claim the Mate 20’s 6.9-inch screen is aimed at Chinese consumers, who are demanding bigger phones for the large screen space taken up by Chinese characters.
Huawei’s Mate 20 is a successor to the Mate 10, which launched in Q4 last year.
